Training and support

We will install ContactsLaw and offer as much training as you need.  Installation and support costs will either be quoted or offered at market rates.

Although sophisticated, the software is very intuitive and most users experienced in the use of legal software packages will find it easy to learn. 

There is no charge for support related to a software failure.  Seminars tailored for specific interest groups -  lawyers, managers, administrative staff etc – are available at fixed prices.  Casual support costs $200 per hour (+GST) and support packages are available at discounted rates:

Data transfer

Overtech will quote on the cost of transferring data from your existing package.  The data that is transferred will ultimately depend on the quality (ie organisation) of your existing database and the amount of data required to be transferred

If you store contacts in Microsoft Outlook it is easy to transfer data to ContactsLaw via V-cards.

Generally we recommend:

  • You bill as many files as possible immediately before changeover
  • Changeover occurs from the first day of the month
  • Details of current clients and their active files must be imported before changeover
  • General and trust accounts (including debtor and creditors) should be reconciled as at the changeover date
  • The following balances will appear on your ContactsLaw files:
    • Trust balances
    • Debtor balances
    • All unbilled time (itemised)
    • Unrendered disbursement balances
  • Opening balances as at the changeover date will appear in your general ledger
  • You continue to refer to your former package for historical information in the short-term.
